The tools you need

‘Basically, OX Tools started out as a small family business,’ explains Lincoln Clarkson, the director of OX Group Netherlands. ‘But with ambitious ideas!’ If you’re not big, you have to be smart. So a number of Australian tool manufacturers have teamed up. ‘Now we can combine our buying activities and make the most out our marketing power by working as a single brand.’

Masonry hand tools and diamond blades

The formula works. The combination of high quality, good service and affordable prices for hand tools, diamond blades and diamond drills, among other products, has already led to the establishment of branches in the USA, Canada, Spain, The U.K. and Sweden. The Netherlands is the base for servicing the Benelux countries and parts of Germany and France. ‘It was 2012 when we selected the Netherlands as our location to serve Northwest Europe. People here speak excellent English, they have a culture that is open to new ideas and Rotterdam is an excellent supply route for goods in and out of Europe, delivering the right tools for the job to be done!’

They can make you broke

An important factor was selecting an organisation that could manage the entire back office. The OX Group was referred to Hoek en Blok via the Morison KSi network. ‘We have a saying about professional service firms in Australia: “they don’t make you money, but they can make you broke.” So it’s vital to get things right. Hoek en Blok has managed our salary accounting, legal and tax matters, accountancy and our financing since the outset. And to our complete satisfaction. As far as that’s concerned, they’re just like our tools: essential to get the job done right.’
